Sucralpet Oral Suspension Dosage

Sucralpet Oral Suspension contains sucralfate, an anti-ulcer agent that forms a protective barrier over ulcer sites in the gastrointestinal tract, aiding in their healing.

Dosage and Administration:

  • Dogs:
    • Small Dogs: 250 mg to 500 mg every 6 to 8 hours.
    • Large Dogs: Up to 1,000 mg every 6 to 8 hours.
  • Cats:
    • 250 mg to 500 mg every 6 to 8 hours.

Each 5 ml of Sucralpet Oral Suspension contains 500 mg of sucralfate. Therefore, a 5 ml dose provides 500 mg of the active ingredient.

Administration Tips:

  • Administer on an empty stomach, at least one hour before feeding.
  • Shake the bottle well before use.
  • Use a syringe or dropper to measure and administer the exact dose.

Precautions:

  • Monitor for potential side effects such as constipation, vomiting, or diarrhea.
  • Use with caution in pets with chronic kidney failure due to potential aluminum accumulation.
  • Consult your veterinarian before use in pregnant or lactating animals.

Always follow your veterinarian’s guidance regarding the appropriate dosage and duration of treatment for your pet’s specific condition.
