Drontal Puppy Dosage Calculator
Drontal® Puppy Worming Suspension is a liquid dewormer formulated specifically for puppies and small dogs. It effectively targets and eliminates common intestinal parasites, ensuring the health and well-being of young canines.
Active Ingredients:
- Febantel: 15 mg per mL
- Pyrantel Embonate: 14.4 mg per mL (equivalent to 5 mg Pyrantel base)
Effective Against:
- Roundworms
- Hookworms
- Whipworms
Dosage and Administration:
- Dosage: Administer 1 mL of suspension per 1 kg (2.2 lbs) of body weight.
- Age for Administration: Suitable for puppies from 2 weeks of age onwards.
- Administration Method: Use the included dosing syringe for precise measurement and administer the suspension directly into the puppy’s mouth.
Recommended Treatment Schedule:
- Initial Treatments: Treat at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 weeks of age.
- Subsequent Treatments: After 12 weeks, administer monthly treatments until the puppy reaches 6 months of age.
- Maintenance: After 6 months, continue treatments every 3 months.
- Whipworm Consideration: In areas where whipworm is a concern, treat every 6-8 weeks.
Important Notes:
- Tapeworms and Heartworm: Drontal® Puppy Suspension does not control tapeworms or heartworm.
- Combination with Other Treatments: This suspension can be combined with other treatments, such as heartworm prevention and flea or tick treatments.
- Storage: Store below 30°C (room temperature) and shake well before use.
